in our life takes its time!!!!!!!!

FALLING IN LOVE WITH COUNTRY MUSIC——–

I was alcoholic and low, laying low in my mom’s house, living there alone, two stories in Pasadena, California.

Recently I had met a girl, you know how it goes she was a star, shiny and new and pretty–she loved country music!

And I loved her, but stayed at arm’s length she was engaged to a marine, serving overseas–

Julie got me skimming the country music t.v. channel, the famous CMT for reasons to love more–

It was 1999, and the top songs and videos were Toby Keith’s “How Do You Like Me Now?” Martina McBride’s “Love’s the Only House” and “Do What You Do;”  Chely Wright’s “It Was”–It WAS a great video!!!!!!!! That one act alone would reel in the hardest of blues/hard rock/hip-hop fans like me, I had more experience with punk music than country by 1999, I was twenty-seven years old–

I got sober finally, and started writing country music lyrics, well–my first set of lyrics and song I wrote right in that house in ’99, I had a piano and some guitars and immersed myself in the love of it all–

A simple, old-school hook and theme:

“It’s been a beautiful Day (let’s roll in the hay)”

I love country music because it is happy, good for dancing–the themes come from the blues and hard times often, but there is a grip on those times, we are singing about them, we own them, we’re joking about them–

Well, let’s be like King David and praise God with music–

Country is Christian, I never met a country act that wasn’t humble to something–Blues is there, rock, but there’s nothing like the smile of country music, that tells us we’re all right, CELEBRATES life, takes a moment out of the day and sings…. so many good endeavors and “reasons to be here” to echo part-time country singer James Taylor, rollin’ in the hay, hey that’s one of ‘em too!!!!!!!!

There’ll be a country song to catch, record and celebrate our efforts, I hereby Guaran-frickin’-tee it!!!!!!!! –Love, William:)!!!!!!!!PEACE!!!!!!!!
